struck gold

so i struck gold. thanks to trinnie, nadim and sunrise for lovely ideas. i started trying to come up with something different, original and creative with sunrises idea of "madness and memories" and nadim's idea of "chocolatey adventures". so i went digging.. and well here we have it
xocolatl.. my bitter sweet memories.
xocolatl, is really what the aztecs called chocolate. atl really means water, and xocolli mean bitter. chocolate is bitter since it comes from cacao beans and originally chocolate was more used from gravy/drinking purposes than eating hardened bars like we do now. hot chocolate believe it or not was wayyyy more famous back in 17-18oo's than it will ever be now. more info on chocolate/history and stuff click me. i really do love wikipedia.
anyways.. so with this ancient term for chocolate that the lovely aztecs came up with and "bitter sweet memories" i came up with a new name for my blog.
yes, i could use the old name, but since i went through the trouble to start a new blog, id like a clean slate here - hence the new name. hope you guys like it.. =)

secondly, i was at a bar with some friends not too long ago and it wasnt one of those "lets get drunk tonight things". i think ive grown out of that phase.. but regardless as i sat there chatting and catching up with some friends, i turned over and saw this old couple kissing and the other two couples were grinding. automatically i looked to my friends in disgust, cause well there's nothing more disgusting then horny old couples. as we all sat there staring and in awe of what was going on in a local bar ... i started thinking: yes, no doubt it was gross. i dont even like to see young ppl grinding and being up all over each other. im not much into pda, unless ofcourse im drunk. then i dont care what ppl do. i started thinking that even though its gross, THEY ARE HAPPY. they still love each other .. probably after 50 odd years of marriage.. they're still hot for each other. thats rare. i know couples that have dated for 6 months and well the "charm" dies. after 50 years, they still go out, have fun, live life .. love retirement and enjoy each other's company. thats hard to find. so after a while, i didnt stare in disgust cause they were grinding.. i started staring and almost longing what they had..
huh.. weird eh?

trinnie: lol i know ive been having difficulty pronouncing this thing too.. but its super cool and different =)

keshi: hehehe well it is kinda gross for you and i to think about all the wrinkly things, BUT, i doubt it would be gross for them.

Aditi: =) back at ya !!

nadim: lol i wouldnt say plenty, i typed in chocolate into wikipedia and that came up... therefore my love for that site.
-- i think she is kidding...although dont you think its nasty to watch really old ppl doing sexual things?? for you and i, i would assume so. for the old ppl, im sure its just as hot as it was when they were 21..

keshi: ahh yes, you were =)..

loly.. glad I could pitch in... but why bittersweet? I don't get why it has to be bittersweet memories? :S

Anyway, nope.. not at all.. I feel the same... once I saw this auntie, and she looked so happy.. she had everything - a smart, caring, loving husband.. an angel and a bratette.. a happy home... no financial stress.. friends around her... she may be a housewife, but she was intelligent... she kept up with the latest news and had opinions on all sorts of things.. and she is very open-minded.. friendly.. a warm mother... very loving towards her children.. (most importantly, she loved me ;))

.. and I found myself really, really wishing I could swap places... swap lives.. with her. She seemed to have everything I wanted from life. And there I was, sitting in the same room as her.. one generation away from the safety nest she looked so happy in.

Sigh. :)

tnxx Choco for seeing the humor in my comment. Actually that line was from a movie...51st Dates. I dunno if u watched that movie, but there's a wedding n they're taking their vows n this kinda line is read and I just cracked up. :) So ur post reminded me of that line n thats why I used it here.

Anyways Nadim thought it was a bad joke. And I have apologied. Also not everyone can see the humor in everything, I must accept that and I apologise again.

@sunrise: its bitter sweet cause not all memories have to be good, some are bitter ... and i like that about life, makes me want the happier ones even more (cheesy i know).
secondly, i want a safety net too. i know exactly what you mean.

@keshi: i have seen that movie, i do not remember that line, but i have seen that movie. eh its ok, you wrote something you thought was funny - no need to apologize for it. atleast you're humble you acknowledge that not everyone finds it funny. though i think nadim didnt think u were kidding. if he thought u were kidding, im sure he woulda seen the humor (atleast i think so)

keshi! it just sounded different to me when i read ur comment! but i shudav known u dont think like that! and plsss dont apologize! actually no, u shud apologize again for apologizing so many times! :P

pooj, well... i dunno what exactly they were doing then! I just assumed it was within limits... limits as in, what young ppl might do in public, when not drunk!
and also u dont really find PDA amusing but i 'preach n practice' pda! so there we go! different perspectives! hence, i couldnt think of it as something gross! but if they were actually acting horny and doing stuff, then it is gross! u see, pda is display of affection, not to tell the world how horny u feel! and from the last cpl of lines from ur post, it seemed like affection. i think its not easy to still be attracted to someone even after 50 yrs! so i wud be in awe rather than in disgust! thts not weird at all! isnt it what everybody wish for? someone you can love and be attracted to even after 50 yrs!?

@nadim: well at first they were GRINDING.. GROSS!!! AND ALL DRINK ALL OVER EACH OTHER. i mean pda is a cute kiss or holding hands not slobering and dry humping.
lol but after staring for a while, i figured hey they been married 50 odd years and they're still hot for each other - thats gotta be love or a HELL OF A AFFAIR. hahahaha
either way, i ended up wanting the "grossness" because they have each other in GOOD and BAD and they're still hot for each other like a new teenage couple -thats gotta mean something
